It is important to think about the requirements and restrictions of the area you are flooring, to ensure you pick the right flooring for the space. Will the area get damp often? Experience a large amount of sunlight? Receive a lot of footfall? What asthenic are you trying to create? Are all important questions to ask yourself.
Sisu has been designed with every room in mind. To help you make the most informed decision on what flooring to select for your project, we are sharing our expert Sisu flooring recommendations for each room of your house, to help you discover all the features Sisu indoor flooring has to offer and pick the perfect product for your flooring project.

LVT vs Laminate

LVT and laminate are both very versatile high-quality options for your flooring projects. LVT flooring is made from multiple layers of vinyl making it thin, flexible and a versatile flooring option. LVT is suitable for most spaces and room types thanks to its waterproof, sound-absorbing, and durable qualities. LVT flooring comes in a variety of effects and can give you an authentic wood, stone or ceramic effect for a fraction of the cost. LVT flooring is a durable, low maintenance and resistant material making it perfect for high-traffic areas, rooms that require waterproofing and areas with underfloor heating such as bathrooms. LVT however is more complicated to install, Sisu Dryback LVT would require an expert installer. Click LVT is sustainable for more experienced DIYers but is still more complicated than installing laminate flooring.
Laminate flooring on the other hand gets its authentic look from a photographic top layer and is constructed from fibreboard underneath and is finished with a protective layer. Making it a very versatile flooring option but less hard-wearing and durable than Sisu LVT. Sisu laminate is water resistant, making it suitable for most room types including kitchens but it is not waterproof so should not be used in bathrooms. Laminate however is more suitable for conservatories and rooms that receive a lot of direct natural sunlight. The wood within the Laminate helps make it more resistant to changes in temperature than LVT. Laminate is low maintenance, anti-scratch, easy to clean and suitable for underfloor heating. Sisu laminate is made using 72% recycled wood, helping make it the more sustainable choice. Sisu Laminate is easy to install and is safe to DIY, helping make it the more cost-effective option.

Sisu Click LVT

Sisu Click LVT is suitable for:
  • Bathrooms
  • Bedrooms
  • Dining rooms
  • Lounges
  • Kitchens
  • Utility rooms
  • Basements
  • Garages
The
Sisu Click LVT
range is perfect for most residential homes. It being waterproof makes it the perfect fit for a bathroom, and its easy to clean surface will ensure it is a revolutionary addition to your kitchen or dining room. It also feels soft and warm underfoot making it the ideal flooring option to your bedroom or living room. With a choice between 4 different stone designs and 6 various wood designs, we are sure you’ll find a tile that will suit your style.
As with all luxury vinyl tiles, Sisu Click LVT is not suitable for conservatories. The plastic content of all luxury vinyl tiles means that extremely high exposure to sunlight, as is common in conservatories, can cause the tiles to warp. We’d therefore recommend using
Sisu Laminate
in your conservatory.
Sisu Click LVT is also a brilliant choice for commercial spaces. The range is suitable for areas that experience light (class 31) or medium (class 32) commercial traffic. If you have a heavy footfall (class 33), we’d recommend using
Sisu LVT Dryback.

Sisu Dryback LVT

Sisu Dryback LVT is suitable for:
  • Bathrooms
  • Bedrooms
  • Dining rooms
  • Lounges
  • Kitchens
  • Utility rooms
  • Basements
  • Garages
Sisu Dryback LVT
is one of the sturdiest flooring all-round. Unlike Sisu Click LVT, the tiles do not expand or contract as they are glued to the floor rather than ‘clicked’ together using a tongue and groove system. Sisu Dryback tiles also have a thinner profile, which may be a requirement for your residential project. With a thicker wear layer, this flooring range has been perfected for use in residential areas.
Just as with Sisu Click LVT, the Dryback range can be used in any room of the house apart from conservatories. If you are looking for flooring that can be used in areas with a high footfall, but conditions akin to those in a conservatory, we’d recommend using
Sisu Laminate 12mm.
Sisu Dryback LVT is suitable for all commercial areas and has been approved for light (class 31), medium (class 32) and heavy (class 33) commercial use.

Sisu Laminate 8mm

Sisu Laminate 8mm is suitable for:
  • Bedrooms
  • Dining rooms
  • Lounges
  • Kitchens
  • Utility rooms
  • Basements
  • Garages
  • Conservatories
With 10 different embossed wood designs true to nature, good insulating properties and a comfortable walking surface,
Sisu Laminate 8mm
is perfect for residential projects. The high recycled wood content of the planks means you can use it in your bedroom, living room, and even in a conservatory.
While Sisu Laminate is water-resistant and can be used in any room which has no or minor liquid spillage such as a kitchen, we would recommend using
Sisu Click LVT
in the bathroom. Sisu Laminate is not waterproof and using it in the bathroom, a room which often has a lot of water spillage, the planks may start to warp or stain.
While Sisu Laminate 8mm has a surprisingly high
AC rating
for its thickness (AC4 rating), we’d recommend using
Sisu Laminate 12mm
for areas that can be particularly busy.

If you want the most environmentally friendly Sisu flooring,
Sisu Laminate 12mm
is the one for you. Every 30m2 of this range contains 228kg of recycled wood. Its extremely high durability level (AC5 rating) and the superior board thickness, makes Sisu Laminate 12mm the preferred choice for many residential homeowners. The thickness fully ensures the boards have a high scratch rating, perfect for those of you who own pets. The planks come in the same designs and sizes as Sisu Laminate 8mm meaning you do not have to compromise on either. They are also installed in the same quick and easy way.
Just like the 8mm range, Sisu Laminate 12mm is not waterproof and, as a result, not suitable for use in a bathroom. If you are looking for an extremely durable flooring option that is waterproof, we’d suggest having a look at
Sisu Dryback LVT.
With a choice of 6 wood designs and 4 stone designs, we’re confident you’ll find a suitable alternative.
Sisu Laminate 12mm is the recommended choice for commercial projects as well and has been tested and approved for light (class 31), medium (class 32) and heavy (class 33) commercial use.
