About Us

James Brueton worked as a commodities trader and successfully established his own hedge fund. While it was financially rewarding, James realised that there had to be more to life - he wanted to give more than he took.

So, taking some time to determine which direction his life should take, James decided to renovate his house. It was while shopping for building materials that he realised how little information was available on the sustainability of the products, and from that realisation grew EnviroBuild.

After sourcing the first EnviroBuild product, composite decking made from recycled plastic and timber off-cuts, James asked his friend Aidan Bell, who he had met at Deloitte, whether he was interested in joining the venture. Aidan had recently sold his first sustainable business, EvoEnergy - a leading solar PV contractor, and jumped at the idea.

Together they're building EnviroBuild, a company that looks to provide the most sustainable building products in their respective class.

“We’re not looking for companies and consumers to purchase based solely upon their ethics, but to judge our products against the rest of the market. If they find we’re at least as good value as the others, then we’ve made the sustainable choice an easy choice!”

Each product introduced will have a Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) carried out, which measures the impact of every stage of a product from its manufacture and transportation to disposal. This is something that EnviroBuild uses to analyse how to make their products even more sustainable. An outcome of this analysis has been a push to move manufacturing processes to use sustainable wind energy.

EnviroBuild has always wanted to help rather than just minimise the damage of construction and therefore donate 10% of their profits to sustainable charities - most notably the Rainforest Trust, where James was made a trustee due to the level of donations that EnviroBuild has made.

Recently, EnviroBuild has become a carbon balanced business (though not for the products) by offsetting the carbon used for the day-to-day operations of the business.

“We're grateful for the support of our customers, and have noticed a sizable shift in the last few years to people caring more about the environment.”

Leaders in Sustainability

Our mission is to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of the construction industry by providing high quality products that are consistently the better environmental choice over current traditional products on the market.

The majority of materials we sell, including our packaging, come from recycled sources, which can be recycled again at the end of their life cycle.

To go even further, we also dedicate 10% of our profits to sustainable causes, which is unmatched in the industry. From the beginning we have been supporting sustainable charities, such as the Rainforest Trust in their mission to protect endangered rainforests and species.

EnviroBuild are true industry leaders in progressing the sustainability and Environmental impact of construction materials. To find our more about the projects we have been supporting and our sustainability mission click here.
