Rooftop Terrace Decking

2016 saw the residential refurb of a rooftop balcony in South Kensington. The space is a top floor residential apartment and the balcony is used for socialising as well as being a much enjoyed sun trap at the weekends.
The Hyperion Frontier decking was used to replace worn out softwood that required a huge amount of maintenance and treatment on a yearly basis.

The Solution

The project used ultra-low maintenance Iroko coloured Hyperion Decking from the Frontier range.
The decking was installed using rubber support pads, which protected the roof membrane from being damaged. On top of which were 28-40 mm adjustable pedestals that levelled the deck frame on a very uneven roofing surface. 50 x 100 mm Manticore Lumber joists, made from 100% recycled plastic for a long lasting and hard-wearing substructure, provided solid support to the decking on top.

Customer Feedback

“Superb service from start to finish. Am very happy we chose this over a traditional wooden deck...it's still looking great and have had to do no maintenance at all."
