Creating a Garden Platform

The client’s garden in Surrey was a lawn that lacked defined form. They wanted a platform that could transition the outdoors into functional space for breakfast, family meals and relaxation. To achieve that, the deck was constructed over the existing turf, defining a new focal point for the garden and enhancing its usability.

Oak Composite Decking, Walnut Border & Recycled Plastic Substructure

The build uses Oak Hyperion composite decking boards at its centre, complemented by a walnut-coloured border to frame and elevate the visual effect. For the frame, Manticore recycled plastic lumber was used to resist rot, and the structure was raised using recycled plastic posts cemented into the ground. The result is a durable, attractive deck that combines natural tones with sustainable build methods.

“We were deciding between paving and decking for our garden, but loved the tactile feel of decking under foot and always found paving to be too cold. So we spoke to EnviroBuild, who were very helpful throughout and helped us come up with some very interesting design ideas for the deck. Its turned out so well and we’re now out in the garden more than ever!"
