Designing a Garden Showcase That Speaks Sustainability

Designer Hana Leonard intended to celebrate recycled materials in garden architecture. The concept was inspired by the surplus plastic packaging used in horticulture, plant pots, compost bags, turning waste into beauty. This project is a green oasis atop a restored landfill, intended as both a visual statement and a sustainability showcase. The brief demanded that all materials be made of recycled plastic, while remaining garden-friendly and contemporary.

Hyperion Pioneer Cladding in All Colours & Sustainable Impact

The cladding solution used Pioneer Composite Cladding in all available colours, wrapped around an arched garden room to deliver a vibrant, mood-rich façade. The cladding is composed of 90% recycled materials, and the installation diverted 746.6 kg of plastic from landfill, equivalent to 36,398 plastic bottles.

“I chose EnviroBuild because of their environmental credentials, high recycled content in their product and their commitment to sustainability. The fact that their decking and cladding comes in a variety of nice colours and finishes was just an added bonus that allowed me to create a more eye-catching design.”

— Hana Lenord, Garden Designer
