Why Replace the Old Timber Decking at the Café
The Belfairs Woodland Centre’s outdoor café area was surrounded by timber decking that was rotting and no longer safe for public use. The Essex Wildlife Trust needed a rot-proof, more sustainable replacement that offered strong anti-slip properties, could be installed over the existing subframe and would require minimal disruption to café operations.
The Solution: Pioneer Stone Composite Decking
EnviroBuild supplied 200 m² of Stone Pioneer decking, which was installed over the existing treated timber substructure (which remained in good condition) using a hidden fastener system. Curved fascia boards were used to match the contours of the existing structure seamlessly.
