Converting a Courtyard into a Layered Outdoor Space
After extending their kitchen with floor-to-ceiling glass doors, the homeowners wanted a garden that echoed the same contemporary aesthetic. The original timber deck had become unsafe and overgrown, limiting its use. The new design reimagined the courtyard as a multi-level outdoor space. Raised decking areas now create distinct zones for dining and relaxation, linked by steps and framed by lush greenery. The result is a tranquil, design-led escape in the heart of the city.

Frontier Iroko Decking and Floating Bench Detailing
Constructed from Frontier Iroko composite decking, the project highlights the material’s versatility through floating benches built from the same decking boards. The layout also features slatted fencing for privacy and a timber pergola draped with climbers and festoon lighting to add evening ambience. Bullnose edges define the platforms for a clean, architectural finish. Durable, non-slip and low-maintenance, the Frontier boards ensure the courtyard remains as practical as it is elegant.
